On Thursday, the Crew announced the signing of 24-year-old winger Yaw Yeboah. The Ghanaian winger comes to the Crew from Wisla Krakow, from Poland. Up to this point, the Crew had been pretty quiet when it comes to off season moves.
Despite only being 24 years old, Yeboah has played for a number of different clubs. Yeboah spend time with FC Twente of the Netherlands and Spanish second division teams Real Oviedo and FC Numancia. He had also played at Lille in France.
For the Black and Gold to continue to improve they are going to need some production from the youngster. Ultimately, Crew are going to need to find ways to create more chances this season. Columbus can’t rely on their defense to keep them in matches each and every time out. Knowing that there is always a period of adjustment for players, it will be interesting to see how Yeboah fits in with Crew.
There’s a lot of pressure for him to perform early. His contributions will play a big part in how Columbus fairs this coming season. Expect the unexpected as Yeboah settles in with Crew SC.
